How do subscription and top-up tokens work?

Your Fable balance has two parts. Subscription tokens come from your plan’s monthly allowance. Top-up tokens include purchased packs, signup tokens and eligible rewards. Fable uses subscription tokens first, then uses top-up tokens if the action costs more than your remaining subscription balance.

Unused subscription tokens expire at the end of their allocation period. Top-up tokens do not expire, and a monthly refill does not replace or reduce them. For example, with 20 subscription tokens and 100 top-up tokens, a 50-token action uses the 20 subscription tokens and 30 top-up tokens, leaving 70 top-up tokens.

Open Usage to check both balances, activity and current token pricing. A token refund follows the original charge: the top-up portion returns to top-ups, while the subscription portion can return only while its original allocation is still active. Expired subscription tokens are not converted into permanent top-ups.
